Mission statement

Rowland Ward is a world renowned brand in the safari hunting, sporting and outdoor market which manages with pride the oldest record book in the world (Rowland Ward’s Records of Big Game), oversees a Guild devoted to ethical hunting (Rowland Ward’s Guild of Field Sportsmen) and serves worldwide customers, through the production and distribution of premium quality reading and viewing material, clothing and accessories from our website (www.rowlandward.com) and office in the RSA.

Book Publishing

Rowland Ward has been publishing books since 1892 starting with the Records of Big Game and continuing to publish some of the greatest hunting stories, bibliographies and novels of our time. The range of Rowland Ward books includes authors such as Fred Duckworth, Richard Harland, Don Cowie, Fiona Capstick and Steve Smith.

Rowland Ward publishes both collectors and standard edition books on hunting, stalking, shooting and conservation. Although the focus is on Big Game hunting and specifically hunting in Africa, the subject matter of Rowland Ward ’s books includes hunting in Asia, North America, South America and Europe. You can read about all types of animals from the big five; buffalos, elephants, rhinos, lions and leopards to kudo, sable, gemsbok and many more. Rowland Ward also distributes an extensive range of books from other publishers, totaling over 250 titles and including books on wingshooting and gun dogs for the wingshooter; rifle, pistol and shotgun books for all those interested in sporting firearms and ammunition; and books on mammals and birds for the wildlife enthusiasts. Rowland Ward has carefully selected a DVD range that carries the Rowland Ward stamp of approval. We at Rowland Ward have assembled and will continue to assemble a DVD range that encapsulates the excitement of hunting and celebrates not only the experience of the hunt but also the amazing animals that have been hunted. Where our DVDs are not of the quality expected of other commercial DVDs due to the nature of the hunting environment, we have noted this in the product description.
